This plate is made of twenty-four pieces of triangular murrine. The initial triangle pull contains many cells in six colors representing all shades of the rainbow except indigo.

Xander is a glass artist living and working in Spruce Pine, NC. His work is based upon traditional murrine and cane glassmaking techniques popularized by 16th century Venetian glassmakers. Employing these techniques he creates intricate decorative tiles and plates taking particular inspiration from Islamic geometry and the works of biologist Ernst Haeckel.
