Xander D'Ambrosio - Green and Blue Multicellular Glass Plate
Green and Blue cells contained in an opaque White cell wall. The lowest common form is a right triangle shape consisting of three white cells. This right triangle is then repeated thirty two times to create the grid featuring eightfold and twelvefold elements in the pattern.

Xander is a glass artist living and working in Spruce Pine, NC. His work is based upon traditional murrine and cane glassmaking techniques popularized by 16th century Venetian glassmakers. Employing these techniques he creates intricate decorative tiles and plates taking particular inspiration from Islamic geometry and the works of biologist Ernst Haeckel.
