Joshua Hamra’s glass creations are the result of over ten years of passionate flame working. Born in West Virginia and raised in North Carolina, Hamra’s work is influenced by a life surrounded with art and experimenting with glass in his mother’s studio. However, in 2003 a friend introduced him to Borosilicate glass, and the rest, as they say, was history. A self-taught artist, Josh's approach to flame working is similar to that of sitting with friends around a campfire. His method produces a casual elegance that stands out from the friendly swirls and cats’ eye marbles of childhood.
